B.C. Showed Up for Local: The 2025 From the Ground Up Recap

That’s a wrap on the 7th annual From The Ground Up Show – and this year it was bolder and more heartfelt than ever!

Over the course of three incredible days – a conference, trade show, and consumer show – FTGU 2025 brought together a vibrant community of local food champions, industry professionals, and passionate consumers. What started as a simple mission to help BC brands grow has become so much more– an event rooted in community, celebration, and meaningful impact. 

This year, for the first time ever, we opened our doors to the public for a consumer day, and we had no idea what to expect. What happened though, is something we’ll never forget. When we saw the line wrapping around the building before the doors even opened, we were moved to tears. BC showed up for local, and it meant the world to us. 

 

2025 Exhibitor Stats:

  • 52 Exhibitors
  • 54% were new to FTGU 
  • They came from 21 cities around BC
  • 56% were woman-owned
  • 37% were people of colour owned 
  • 33% immigrant / new Canadian owned
  • 10% youth-owned
  • 4% Indigenous owned
