From the Ground Up is a 100% BC Conference and Trade Show connecting our local food and beverage brands with buyers from grocery, food service, and institutional food service, as well as industry experts who can help grow their business! 

Highlights:

1) Sprout Street: Up to 24 new-to-market brands can apply to showcase their products in a smaller and more financially accessible space. Eligibility requirements apply – see application for details.

2) Pre + Post Show Sales Support: Exhibitors gain a competitive edge with two bonus workshops. One before the show to help them stand out, pitch confidently, and maximize buyer engagement and another after the show to turn leads into real sales with strategic follow-up.

3) Our 2026 show was the first ever Trade Show in Canada to implement 100% zero waste sampling! Reusable sampling ware is provided by ShareWares at no extra costs to exhibitors.

4) Exhibitors that register early have the opportunity to contribute product to curated content creator promo boxes. Your brand will be tagged in influencer content, creating shareable and engaging assets for your own channel.

DAY 1) Exhibitor Conference

Held the day before the trade show, is the annual From the Ground Up Conference. This day-long event is a gifted value-add for the From the Ground Up exhibitors.

This interactive conference provides a space for expanded learning as well as networking among peers and industry experts. With new information and ideas, participants build readiness to help them diversify and access new market channel opportunities and ultimately grow their business.

Past conferences have included expert panels, keynote speakers, and speed networking with retail and institutional food service buyers and as well as experts from across the industry.

DAY 2) Industry-Only Trade Show

This industry-only trade show invites:

  • buyers from grocery (independent, natural, regional, and national);
  • buyers from pharmacy and club;
  • buyers from food service (cafes, restaurants, hotels, ferries, airlines);
  • buyers from institutional food service (post-secondary institutions, health care, K-12 schools and school districts);
  • distributors;
  • food service providers;
  • brokers;
  • media;
  • investors;
  • suppliers;
  • and other key members of the food and beverage industry that can help your business grow!

Every exhibitor has a chance to win Outstanding Product of the Year ( Bronze, Silver and Gold) and Best Booth Awards – voted on by the attendees of the trade show.

How It Works

Once you complete the registration form, you will be directed to select your booth. Complete payment to reserve your spot.

SPROUT STREET: There will be up to 24 spots available in our brand new Sprout Street section. These are 6′ wide by 10′ deep spaces available at a reduced price for brands that are both new to From the Ground Up and do not have distribution. Spaces will be granted via application and  not reserved until payment is received. Location within Sprout Street is assigned by the event organizers.

Exhibitor Fee Includes:

  • Trade Show Staff Passes: Each 10’x10′ booth will receive 3 passes for their booth.  Each Sprout Street space will include 2 passes.
  • 1 Conference Pass: Each 10’x10′ booth and each Sprout Street space will receive 1 pass to participate in the Conference. 
  • Exhibitor Set-Up: The afternoon/evening before the trade show. There will also be time in the morning before the show opens while the Health Department is doing their inspections.
  • Reusable Sampling Materials: Each exhibitor will receive reusable sampling materials from ShareWares. 
  • Free Trade Show Ready Workshop: All exhibitors also receive a bonus online prep workshop one month before the show to learn how to pitch to buyers from different market channels,  how to make their booth standout, and more! We will also cover all of the show logistics and have time for Q&A.
  • Free Post-Show Sales Follow-Up Workshop: All exhibitors will also receive a bonus post-show online workshop to review how to follow-up with show leads, integrate learnings & feedback, plan next steps, and secure the sale.

 

Exhibitor Fee Does Not Include:

  • Electricity: You request and purchase electricity directly through the PNE’s contracted electrical company that we will connect you with.
  • Materials for your booth: Your exhibitor space will have a perimeter of pipe & drape. You are responsible for everything else needed to build your display: e.g. tables, chairs, banners, etc.
  • Cooking/warming equipment and storage: You are responsible for any cooking/warming equipment and storage needed to hold your product and prepare samples at the show.
